Campus and Environment
The Kita-Aobayama campus in the physics department is located to several kilos to the west from the central part of Sendai city. Not only the faculty members in the Kita-Aobayama campus but also those from research institutes and laboratories in the Katahira campus and Mikamine campus are involved in the school programs.
The Kita-Aobayama campus abounds with rich green and nature, and is close to the Sendai castle. The subway station will be opened near the campus on December 2015.

Most of the research laboratories in the main research units in Department of Physics, the Graduate School of Science, as well as Research Center for Neutrino Science and Cyclotron and Radioisotope Center, are located in Kita-Aobayama campus.

Katahira-campus and Mikamine-campus, respectively, are located at the central part of Sendai city, and to several kilos to the south from the central part of Sendai city. Institute for Materials Research, and Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Advanced Materials are in Katahira campus, and Research Center for Electron Photon Science is in Mikamine campus.
