Inspired by the original observation of solid-state 235U NMR made by Ikushima and Yasuoka, we envision the study not only of ligand NMR in these systems, but also of the actinide nuclei themselves (e.g., 235U and 237Np), which probe directly the behavior of the 5f electrons. In this talk I will present and discuss results from recent studies of 235U and ligand NMR in UGa3, USb2, URh3, and NpO2. The first two of these are metallic antiferromagnets, though with rather different properties. UGa3 has an unusual “double” second-order phase transition. USb2 is a more conventional antiferromagnet, but represents, we believe, the first observation of 235U AFNMR in a metallic system. URh3 is a conventional Pauli paramagnet, in which we have used 103Rh NMR measurements to indirectly measure the spin-lattice relaxation time T1 of the 235U nuclear spins, the first such measurement in a metallic host. Finally, NpO2 is an insulating compound with a highly unusual quadrupolar-octupolar ground state. Our 17O NMR study of the ordered state is the first such study of a neptunium compound, with interesting implications for the nature of the ordered state. ――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――― 連絡先 : 高木 滋(217-7749) ================================= 世話人 : 高橋 隆(217-6417)、松井広志(217-6604)、 内田就也(217-7756)、中島龍也(217-6441)
